We are chatting on IRC. To chat on IRC you need to download a program (client). There are many programs that you can use. If you have Firefox, Chatzilla is the easiest to use. Download and install it. It will be under Tools. If you have Windows but not Firefox Icechat is easy to use and it's free. If you are using a Mac you can use Icrle.The most popular IRC client on the net is probably mIRC but you are suppose to register it for 20$.
We are keeping a schedule so those times there should be someone there. Times for chats are 10pm EST Tuesday and Friday
To connect to our server Chatnet type /server irc.chatnet.org then press enter . To get to our room (channel) type /join #tonsofkids and press enter (the typing is done in the usual place you would type to chat. It needs to be exactly the way mentioned. Copy and paste it. Extra spaces or missing spaces will cause it not to work). The new window that will open is ours!
In case your IRC client asks the server is random, the address is irc.chatnet.org and the port is 6667. Our channel is #tonsofkids.
Chatnet also has a java chat. It works in a browser. If you connect to this chat you will be in a public room. Most people are nice online but many aren't so be careful! Type /join #tonsofkids to get to our room. Don't forget to change your nick. The java window can be undocked and dragged bigger if you click on the button beside the x in the top right corner.
