TOK Campout 2001
We usually go camping every summer so I suggested to Reg that we camp near Kmom. Our kids and dh's met at the Ottawa picnic. They really hit it off. I can't visit Kmom as she has a few cats but I thought camping 20 min from her home would be fun. Reg had 2 weeks off in July so we started making plans to go. Karenpl and Chrisandkids said they wanted to come too. Then I found out that the park close to Kmom's using a reservation system and it was already full on the weekends. Francesmh wanted to come to but was busy each weekend in July so we decided to just go for a weekend in August. We tried to reserve sites online but it turned out to be frustrating so Chrisandkids called and reserved sites for Kmom, Karenpl, herself and I. The next day Francesmh reserved herself a spot then Stillwantmore reserved herself one. My simple visit was turning into a TOK get together! I was very excited!The weather turned out great. At first they said rain then cooling down to 56. 56 is nice when you are having a heat wave at home but cool for sleeping in a tent. On Thursaday they were saying no rain and highs of 80.
We had a great time! It was neat having a real life chat. The kids played very well together. There were 38 kids there ranging in ages from not born yet to 17 years. We are all looking forward to the next TOK Campout.
